Who these rooms are for

Talking therapy covers a wide range of work: person-centred and integrative counselling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, clinical and counselling psychology, CBT, EMDR, couples and family work, coaching and clinical hypnotherapy. What these approaches share is that the room itself is part of the work. A client who worries about being overheard, or who has to sit in a busy corridor before a session, will find it harder to settle.

Rooms on Roomki suit practitioners at every stage, from trainees building client hours to established clinicians adding a second location. Each host decides which professions their room suits, and you can see this on every listing.

What to look for in a talking therapy room

Soundproofing and privacy matter most. Look for solid doors and walls, no glass panels onto shared spaces and, where possible, a white noise machine outside the door. Ask the host who else uses the building at the times you plan to work.

A discreet waiting area helps clients arrive and leave comfortably. Inside the room, two or three comfortable chairs at a natural angle, a side table, tissues and a clock both of you can see are the basics. For couples or family work you will need extra seating, and some hypnotherapists prefer a reclining chair.

Natural light, good ventilation and controllable heating make long days easier. Finally, check accessibility: step-free access or a lift, and a nearby toilet, can decide whether a client can attend at all.

Ways to book

Hourly booking suits practitioners seeing a few clients a week or working alongside an employed role. Because clients usually value the same day and time each week, many therapists book a regular weekly slot so the room is theirs at that time.

Once your caseload is steady, a monthly room can work out cheaper and lets you keep a few things in the room. Monthly lets are agreed directly with the host after a viewing, with no Roomki fee. If you only need part of the week, split booking lets you share a monthly room with another practitioner and pay your share.

Finding a room near you

Rooms are listed across London, and you can browse therapy rooms area by area to see what is live near your clients, the nearest stations and how each room can be booked. New rooms are added as hosts join, so if there is nothing in your area yet, join the waitlist and we will let you know.

Share a room, split the rent

Share a monthly room with another practitioner on different days and pay only your share.

Questions

Which professions can use these rooms?

Rooms suit counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, CBT therapists, hypnotherapists, coaches and other talking therapists. Each host sets which professions their room suits, shown on the listing.

Can I book the same slot every week?

Yes. Many practitioners book a regular weekly slot so clients can keep the same day and time. You can book several dates at once on rooms that offer hourly booking.

Are the rooms soundproofed?

It depends on the room. Hosts describe their soundproofing and facilities on each listing, and you can message the host before booking to ask.

Is there a fee for monthly rooms?

No. Monthly lets are agreed with the host after a viewing and Roomki charges no fee on them. Hourly and daily prices include a 7% Roomki service fee.

Do I need insurance or registration?

Hosts may ask for proof of professional registration and insurance. Any requirements are shown on the listing before you book.
