Renting a lash and brow room in London: what to know

Who uses lash and brow rooms

Lash technicians, lash lift specialists, brow artists and brow lamination specialists who want their own room without a salon lease.

What a good lash and brow room needs

  • A lash bed with good head support
  • An adjustable stool
  • Bright, cool lighting or a lash lamp
  • Good ventilation for adhesive fumes
  • A trolley
  • Power points next to the bed
  • A steady room temperature, as heat and humidity affect lash adhesive

Licences and registration

Lash and brow treatments don't usually need a special treatment licence, but rules differ by borough. Treatments that pierce the skin, such as microblading and semi-permanent make-up, do need a licence in London. Check with the council where the room is.

Hourly, daily or monthly?

Infills every two to three weeks give lash techs a regular diary, so regular weekly slots or a monthly room work well once you're established.

Tips before you book

  • Check the lighting in the photos.
  • Ask about ventilation.
  • Check the bed height suits how you work.
