Renting a facial or skincare room in London: what to know

Who uses facial rooms

Facialists, skin therapists, dermal therapists and holistic facialists.

What a good facial room needs

  • An adjustable treatment couch
  • A sink with hot water in or near the room
  • A magnifying lamp
  • Power points for a steamer and devices
  • A trolley
  • A towel warmer
  • Soft, adjustable lighting

Licences and registration

Facials don't usually need a licence, but some skin treatments, such as electrolysis, laser and some light-based treatments, may need a special treatment licence for the premises in London. Check with the council where the room is.

Hourly, daily or monthly?

Book by the hour for individual appointments. If you sell courses of treatments, regular weekly slots make it easier for clients to rebook.

Tips before you book

  • Check there's hot water close by.
  • Check there are enough power points for your devices.
  • Ask whether you can leave products in the room.
